Every year, First Nations from across BC come together to share lessons learned and best practices around Comprehensive Community Planning (CCP) in their communities. This 3-day workshop is intended to provide information on how to make CCP work in your communities through a wide range of presentations – from CCP 101 and community engagement strategies to integrating land use and community plans, and exploring planning as a process of healing.
The CCP Workshop is planned by BC’s CCP Mentors, who also provide mentorship to communities undergoing their CCP processes at any stage. Sa̱nala provides the logistical support to bring the CCP Mentors together to plan the workshop, and executes their vision for the event.
In 2024, Sa̱nala organized the workshop in Skidegate, Haida Gwaii, with support from the Haida Nation, who provided a cultural opening, a food burning ceremony, a presentation on Skidegate’s CCP story, a film screening and panel, and a performance from a Haida singing group.
This year Sa̱nala has partnered with Wei Wai Kum First Nation to host the workshop at Thunderbird Hall from October 14-17th, 2025.
