Comprehensive Community Plan Update

Sa̱nala’s work on updating Ehattesaht/Chinehkint First Nation’s 10-Year Comprehensive Community Plan (CCP) took place from April 2024 to March 2025. It began with a review of existing Nation documents and plans, a meeting with Chief and Council, and hiring a local Community Planning Champion to ensure the process was community-led and supported long-term capacity building.

Engagement took place between July and November 2024 and included in-person meetings in Ehatis with Elders, youth, leadership, and staff; community dinners in Zeballos; a virtual session for off-reserve members; an online questionnaire; and multiple engagements in Campbell River, including an open house and a lunch in partnership with the Outreach Team.

Following the completion of data analysis and drafting of the updated plan, Sa̱nala invited feedback from community and leadership at the Nation’s Annual General Meeting. Based on this input, Sa̱nala finalized the written plan and completed graphic design before providing it to Chief and Council for approval in March 2025.
