Phaidra Jenner (lətkʷu) is a Westbank First Nation member who is currently living in amiskwaciy-wâskahikan, a traditional gathering place of the Nehiyawak/Cree, Tsuut'ina, Niitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Haudenosaunee/Iroquois, Dene Suliné, Anishinaabe/Ojibway/Saulteaux, and the Inuk/Inuit within treaty 6 territory. She has been with Sa̱nala since the summer of 2019. In that time she has held a variety of administrative roles within Sa̱nala before settling into the Project Manager position in 2023.
Prior to working with Sa̱nala, Phaidra’s career was heavily focused on housing affordability and building inclusive communities; working in frontline, case management roles for folks experiencing poverty. This compelled her to go back to school and in 2017, she completed her Bachelor of Social Work Degree from the University of Victoria. Other cool humble-brags she has are: sitting on Westbank First Nation’s Allotment Commission for two terms, supporting through the fire season with Emergency Social Services Evacuation Intake, and “playing games to heal kids” by sitting on the leadership team for their local Extra Life chapter.
These days, Phaidra can be typically found chasing her family through public parks, solving puzzle games on the internet, or teaching textile upcycling classes at Blenderz Garment Recyclers.
