From 2022 to present, Sa̱nala has supported the Real Estate Foundation of BC (REFBC) in designing and delivering an Indigenous-led grants stream pilot project by convening a five-person advisory and implementing their recommendations. 

This work has included building the structure for the grants stream and administering the call-out, granting, and evaluation processes. Sa̱nala provides support and facilitation for the Indigenous Community Leaders Circle (ICLC) to help define the Terms of Reference for the grant stream, including roles and responsibilities, while also determining the focus and eligibility of the grants; designing and implementing the application and selection process (with administrative support from REFBC); and supporting the ICLC in decision-making and other non-granting activities. 

Sa̱nala also serves as a liaison between the ICLC and REFBC, identifying program gaps such as communication, media, storytelling, and capacity needs, and helps troubleshoot challenges as necessary.
