The daughter of Vietnamese refugees, born and raised on the unceded and traditional lands of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nations, also known as Oakville, Ontario.

The unceded, traditional, and ancestral territory of xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations, also known as Vancouver, B.C.

As a Planning Assistant Intern for Sa̱nala, Thy is excited to contribute to the diverse array of projects Sa̱nala Planning has lined up. She is especially excited to be on the land with the folks who stewarded and protected these areas since time immemorial. Thy holds a Masters of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo and is starting a Masters of Community and Regional Planning with a concentration in Indigenous Community Planning from the University of British Columbia in Fall 2026. With a background in academic research, project coordination, and workshop facilitation, she is eager to bring in creative and playful methods to engage with communities to amplify their knowledge and stories.
