Sa̱nala led the development of White River First Nation’s 2024–2050 Comprehensive Community Plan (CCP), which outlines the Nation’s 25-year vision and goals across areas including governance, economy, lands and resources, health, infrastructure, culture, and social connection.
With advising from a Steering Committee of Nation members, community engagement took place between Spring 2023 and Summer 2024 and included three in-person gatherings in Beaver Creek, an information session and open house event in Whitehorse, an online visioning survey, two virtual open houses, direct calls to members, community newsletters, and ongoing communication through a CCP Facebook page.
Sa̱nala also connected with Nation staff, students at Nelnah Bessie John School, staff from the Nation’s economic development corporation, the Chief Negotiator, and leadership to ensure the plan reflected broad community perspectives.
The plan was finalized and approved by WRFN Chief and Council in Fall 2024.
